Reflecting on the Achievements of 2023

The Foundation is dedicated to the mission of making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Although our ministry may look different from those serving in local churches, we are committed to supporting and developing financial and leadership skills that will propel the Church into the future.

What Could Your Church Do With $2500?

We are pleased to announce the Wayne C. Barrett Stewardship Award application period is once again open. We are looking for churches that demonstrate a collaborative relationship between the pastor and laity in providing leadership in the area of financial stewardship and reflect a culture of generosity.

We will recognize up to four (4) churches with grants in the amount of $2,500 each.

Wayne Barrett was a true leader who provided more than 35 years of service to the United Methodist Foundation of Michigan. He made a significant impact on over 1,000 congregations by offering programs and consultations in planned giving, capital funding, and stewardship development. Dr. Barrett was also a prolific author, having written featured articles for leading church-related magazines and three best-selling stewardship books.

The deadline is March 15, 2024.
